Parent and Youth Stipends

Stipends, provided by the Center on Disability and Development and the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities, are available to parents and/or youth who would like to attend the conference but need financial assistance.

Who is Qualified to Receive a Stipend?

A limited number of stipends are available and will be awarded with priority given to parents and youth applying who have not received a stipend in the past three years. Stipends will be limited to two per family; if two are awarded, one must be utilized to support attendance by a youth member. Individuals requesting the stipends must be a youth (16 or older) with a disability and/or the parent/guardian of a youth with a disability.

What Does the Stipend Cover?

Stipends will include the cost of registration for the two-day conference less $50 (currently would cover $195) and lodging expense reimbursement of up to $150 for parents/guardians needing to travel 50 miles or more. Youth, ages 16 or older, traveling with their parent/guardian would receive a $100 lodging stipend. Stipends DO NOT cover transportation costs.
